Sephira School of Music

General Terms & Conditions

  • Sephira School of Music is a judgement free zone and we pride ourselves on our positive learning environment. In keeping with our positive environment, the school does not accept certain types of behaviour such as bullying, violence, sarcasm, name-calling, favouritism, abusive language or gestures, negative criticism of values, beliefs and opinions, and negative highlighting of physical, social cultural or emotional differences, and will intervene to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of all. Good behaviour and respect for teachers and other students is expected.

  • There will be no supervision for students before or after classes. Parents/guardians are expected to collect their children at the appropriate time.

  • Smoking, chewing gum, & alcohol is not allowed on the premises or during class. Students and parents should respect the premises, making an effort to leave the place clean and in good condition.

  • Sephira School of Music reserve the right to refuse enrolment if a student or parent is continually disruptive, causes damage to the premises / equipment, or puts the safety of themselves or others at risk. Serious offenders could be at risk of losing their place at the school and / or term fees paid. Sephira School of Music reserves the right to discontinue the enrolment of any student who misses three consecutive lessons without notification, has a pattern of absences or who is constantly late.

  • We ask that parents and students show respect for other students in class. 

  • If parents need to talk to teachers, we ask that this happen at the beginning of the class rather than at the start of the next student’s class. Parents need to be aware of all our school policies.

  • If Sephira School of Music needs to close for any reason (e.g. adverse weather conditions) the school may open during holidays at their discretion.  

  • If a student misses a class, that student is not entitled to a refund for that class as the teacher’s time is booked for that time for the whole semester.  More details in "Important information" below.

  • Sephira School of Music reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher when necessary. Notice of this will be given where possible. All our teachers are Garda Vetted.

Registration and Payment

  • Registration for classes requires a completed registration form.

  • Fees are payable by cash in a sealed envelope with your Superstar’s name on it.

  • For individual classes, all fees for Semester 1 must be paid in full on payment due dates detailed on your term calendar: Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday.

  • For individual classes, all fees for Semester 2 must be paid in full on payment due dates detailed on your term calendar: Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday.

  • For group classes, all fees must be paid in full at the start of each term.

  • You may not be permitted to your class if full fee is not paid by these dates.

  • Please do not send cash in the post.

  • All fees and deposits are non-refundable.

  • Deposits and fees are only refunded at the discretion of the Sephira School of Music.

  • To cancel your place at Sephira School of Music, a minimum of 4 weeks notice must be given to Sephira School of Music otherwise pre-paid fees will be forfeited. 

Attendance Policy

  • Payment must be made for all classes, whether taken or missed.

  • Classes cannot be made up in the case of a student being absent.

  • If you are not going to make a class as a courtesy to the teacher we ask that the teacher be notified before the scheduled class time.

  • If the teacher is unable to give a class, the class will be rescheduled for a later date or the student may take up the class with a substitute teacher.

Cancellation Policy 

  • Sephira School of Music reserves the right to cancel any course or group lesson because of insufficient enrolment.

  • All deposits and fees will be refunded if the School cannot offer classes and courses of a similar level and standard.

  • Fees may be altered accordingly for smaller groups.

  • This will be confirmed with the student/parent before classes commence.

  • Sephira School of Music reserves the right to make changes to class timetables or teachers.

Online Classes - Terms & Conditions

  • By taking lessons online, you give the right for your teacher to contact you in relation to your music classes at Sephira School of Music, If you arrange an online class with your teacher and fail to attend at the appropriate day and time you will forfeit your class.

  • Please ensure that you attend on time for your class, as teachers cannot give you the exact duration of your class if for example you are 10 minutes late.

Sephira School of Music COVID-19 Terms and Conditions

  • If you have any symptoms of cold, flu, high temperature, symptomatic, please do not attend your class, notify your teacher and other arrangements will be made. For individual classes, if the child is well enough, an online session can replace the in-person session on this occasion.

  • Hand sanitiser will be available and students will be asked to use it when they enter, and when they leave.

Contingency Plan for COVID-19 Closure

  • Students signing up for this term should be aware that in the event of an extended COVID-19 closure, online classes will be given as an alternative to lessons on our premises for all students.

  • Holidays such as Midterm, Christmas, or Easter may be used as a contingency weeks for make up classes.

  • Students may not opt out of online classes during the Semester, and online classes will be treated the same as appointments on our premises. Any exemption from participating in online classes must be agreed in advance of the start of term. If you wish to be exempt for reasons of age / access / technical reason, please contact us as soon as possible. It is necessary to do this to set out the yearly budget accurately and secure the livelihood of the teachers. In the case of an exemption, balances from any online classes will be given in the form of a deduction from Semester 2 fees in January.

Please read this Important information :

  • When you pay for your child’s classes, you are also holding your child’s place at Sephira School of Music. For group classes, in the case a student misses a class, a re-schedule for that student will not possible and the fees are non-refundable.

  • For individual classes, in the case of a missed class, if a re-schedule is not possible, the fees are non-refundable.  Bear in mind, Ruth & Joyce always do their best to facilitate change.

  • Fees for each term must be paid in full on the “Payment Due” dates. (If you are experiencing difficulties paying on time, please do let Ruth or Joyce know)

  • Term Fees: Fees are payable by cash in a sealed envelope with your Superstar’s name on it.

  • Your Superstar is being coached by international performing artists so there may be times where Ruth & Joyce need to fly overseas for an important event at late notice.   With this in mind, there may be times that a scheduled in-person lesson may have to be replaced by an online lesson or may be taught by a substitute teacher

  • Sephira School of Music reserves the right to add to or change the terms and conditions.
